“I have some bad news and some very bad news,” the doctor told his patient.

“You might as well give me the bad news first,” replied the patient.

“OK”, the doctor said. “The lab called with your test results. They said you have 24 hours to live.”

“Twenty-four hours! That’s terrible! What could be worse? What’s the very bad news?”

“I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday.”

So you can see how hazardous it can be to hear only half of a news report, but that’s exactly what’s happening when you watch the mainstream media. And the following is a prime example:

During recent rioting in Gaza, the western media reported that 62 Palestinians were killed but gave very little background information. Some rarely publicized information was a report by a senior Hamas official who stated 50 of the 62 people martyred were Hamas. And, yes, he used the word ‘martyred.’ It was also noted that many of the injuries sustained were due to tear gas inhalation.

Also missing was a report by a Palestinian man describing how Hamas encourages the people of Gaza to take part in what he called riots, not peaceful demonstrations. Hamas sends people texts, delivers messages to mosques and hands out flyers telling the people (including women and children) to head to the border fence with Israel. One thing is certain; the people are not going spontaneously but are paid. Transportation to the border fence is provided. Families with women and children are given larger monetary compensation and injured protesters receive $500.

Hamas vowed that during the six weeks of the March of Return, the plan was for rioters to destroy the security barrier, with the help of suicide bombers, and infiltrate Israel.

But it wasn’t reported that before the riots ever began, IDF aircraft dropped thousands of leaflets warning Gazans not to serve as a tool for Hamas. They warned that the violent riots would jeopardize their lives while Hamas used them as their puppets. They warned the people to stay away from the security fence, and the violent rioters.

And after the rioting, Israel addressed the dire lack of medical supplies in Gaza, by sending several trucks filled with medical equipment and supplies to the people there. However, the terrorist group that runs the Gaza Strip refused to accept the supplies and sent the trucks back to Israel, thus displaying a complete lack of concern for all the injured Gazans.

It’s also not surprising that Iran’s ties to Hamas made headlines when it was discovered they were transferring funds to the Gaza terrorist group to support the protests along the Israeli-Gaza Border.

However, on the home front, you likely did hear Justin Trudeau say, “Reported use of excessive force and live ammunition is inexcusable,” referring to excessive force used by Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East, defending itself against terrorist regimes. These regimes have schooled children to hate Israel and America, have made it public knowledge their goal is to destroy Israel, while using their own people as human martyrs.

Loss of lives is always bad news, but on the other hand the expression “no news is good news” does not apply when it comes to media reports.
