The Oyen Eagles are proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Fertile Valley Baseball League.

The Eagles are 4-0 so far this season and have racked up 53 runs in those four games, while allowing just 13 against.

The Eagles have won their last two games by scores of 19-8 in Outlook June 3 and shut out the young Kindersley Royals 19-0 June 4.

Meanwhile, the Elrose Aces are the only other undefeated team going into this week, sitting at 3-0. The Kindersley Raiders and Stallions have 2-1 records. The Kyle Yellow Jackets, Eatonia Wheat Kings and Outlook River Hawks are all at 1-1. The Kindersley Cubs, Rosetown Angels and Beechy Breakers are all at 1-2, the Kindersley Royals are at 1-3 and the Kindersley Klippers are off to an 0-4 start.

Scores from this past week: May 30 – Stallions 3 at Eagles 7; Aces 10 at Cubs 3. May 31 – Breakers 8 at Angels 9. June 3 – Eagles 19 at River Hawks 8. June 4 – Eagles 19 at Royals 0, Yellow Jackets 6 at Aces 7, Wheat Kings 8 at Cubs 6. June 5 – Riaders 5 at Angels 3 and Klippers 9 at Breakers 12.

There were a couple of games postponed due to rain on the weekend including Friday’s tilt between the Wheat Kings and the Klippers and Saturday’s games between the Eagles and Yellow Jackets and the Eagles vs Aces games in Elrose.

A very busy week is ahead: June 6, the Wheat Kings and Royals and the Cubs and River Hawks were scheduled to lock horns. Thursday, the Aces were scheduled to be in Rosetown and the River Hawks were travelling to Kindersley to take on the Raiders. Friday, the Breakers are in Kindersley to take on the Cubs and the Stallions in a double-header. Saturday, the Yellow Jackets will take on the Klippers and the Raiders in a twin bill
in Kindersley.

Sunday, the Royals will travel to take on the Angels in Rosetown. Monday, the Wheat Kings will travel to Outlook, the Cubs will be in Oyen and the Aces will be in Kindersley to take on the Stallions. Tuesday, the Angels will be in Oyen, the Raiders take on the Klippers and the Royals do battle in Beechy.

Wednesday, the Wheat Kings will be in Kindersley to take on the Stallions and the Klippers will battle the Cubs. Thursday, The River Hawks travel to Beechy; the Royals will travel to Elrose and the Stallions take on the Raiders in a re-match of last year’s championship series.
