The Richmound Rockets remain on top of the standings in the Sask-Alta Baseball League, after play Tuesday.

The Rockets sit with a 4-2 record so far this season, but lost their latest game, the second in a double-header June 3, to the Shaunavon Badgers. They will have some time to recover now, as they don’t see action until June 14.

The Gull Lake Greyhounds also have four wins on the season, compared to one loss. They were scheduled to host the Shaunavon Badgers on Wednesday, in a re-match of the provincial championships.

The Badgers are right behind with a 3-1 record, followed by the Cabri River Rats at 2-1-1; Maple Creek Mohawks at 2-4; Medicine Hat Vipers at 2-4; Swift Current Yard Goats at 1-1-1 and the Climax Cardinals are seeking their first win, sitting at 0-4.

Game scores from last week: May 31: Moawks 0 at Greyhounds 12 and Badgers 3 at River Rats 6. June 3 – Rockets 13 at Cardinals 11 and Rockets 7 at Badgers 9. June 5 – Vipers 3 at Mohawks 8.

This week’s schedule is a busy one: Wednesday, June 6th, the Badgers were scheduled to be in Gull Lake to take on the Greyhounds. Thursday, the Mohawks will be in the Swamp to take on the River Rats and the Badgers will be in Swift Current to take on the Yard Goats.

Saturday, the Vipers will be in Cabri, then they travel to Swift Current to take on the Yard Goats. Monday, the Yard Goats will be in Maple Creek; Cabri will be in Medicine Hat and the Gull Lake will be in Climax. Thursday, Swift Current will be in Richmound; Maple Creek will be in Climax and Cabri will be in Shaunavon.
