Angels defeat Eagles for first loss

The Rosetown Angels cruised in to the Eagles’ nest in Oyen Tuesday night to hand them their first loss of the season.

The expansion Eagles had won their first five games of the season and were looking pretty good on top of the standings.

The loss puts them at 5-1 on the season tied for stop spot with the Kindersley Raiders, who narrowly defeated the Klippers in their latest action, 11-10 on Tuesday night. The Kindersley Stallions were not that far behind going into action Wednesday with a 4-1 record, followed by the Angels at 4-2.

Just a half game back of the Angels were the Elrose Aces with a 3-2 record followed by: Kindersley Cubs 3-3; Eatonia Wheat Kings 1-2; Kindersley Royals 2-4-1; Kyle Yellow Jackets 1-3; Outlook River Hawks 1-3; Beechy Breakers 1-4-1; and the Kindersley Klippers at 1-5.

Gull Lake, Cabri on top in Sask-Alta standings

The Gull Lake Greyhounds have a 5-2 record while the River Rats sit with a 4-1-1 record to sit atop of the standings in the Sask-Alta Baseball League, after action Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Richmound Rockets have a 4-2 record followed by the Swift Current Yard Goats at 3-2-1; the Shaunavon Badgers at 3-3; the Maple Creek Mohawks sit at 3-5; the Medicine Hat Vipers at 2-6 and the Climax Cardinals have a record of 1-4.

Friday, Climax was travelling to Medicine Hat. Saturday, Richmound will host Shaunavon at 1 p.m. and Climax at 5 p.m. Elsewhere, Shaunavon will be in Medicine Hat.

Next Tuesday, Gull Lake will be in Maple Creek and Swift Current will visit Cabri. June 21st, Richmound will be in Gull Lake and Shaunavon will be in Climax.
