Peewee AA hockey

The West Central Wheat Kings split a two-game series with the ever-tough Tisdale Ramblers last weekend.

In their latest game, Sunday afternoon in Unity, they lost their first game of the season, dropping a 7-5 decision to the Ramblers. This came after a 6-5 victory Saturday in Dodsland.

The Wheat Kings remain in first in the Centre Four Hockey League Standings with a record of 6-1-1 for 13 points. Tisdale sits in second with a 5-1 record for 10 points.

In Sunday’s game, the Ramblers scored three unanswered in the third to pick up the victory.

Scoring for the Wheat Kings were Kaden Veller, Brett Bahm Landon Nash, Karson Blanchette, and Ethan Sautner.

Tyson Borschneck was in net for the Wheat Kings.

In Saturday’s game, the Ramblers started off quickly, scoring two in the first and another late in the second for a 3-0 lead.
Caitlyn Perlinger, Brett Bahm and Landon Nash scored in the final 2:23 of the period to tie things up heading into the third.

The Wheat Kings’ Dayton Reschny gave his team the lead early on, but a couple of power play markers by Cole Reschny and Landon Nash would seal the team’s 6-5 victory.

Blake Sittler picked up the win in net for the Wheat Kings.

Next action will see them take to the road, travelling to take on the Battlefords Barons (0-8) this Friday and the Warman Wildcats (3-0-2) on Sunday.

Bantams

The Wheat Kings will continue with their regular season schedule with a game on the road against the Saskatoon Generals (9-6) Nov. 28.

The Wheat Kings sit in second place in the North Division standings in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League. They have a record of 11-1-1, two points behind Prince Albert.

Female Midgets

The West Central Wheat Kings will get back into regular season with a double-header against the Prince Albert BeachComber Foxes this weekend.

They will host the winless Foxes (0-6-3) this Saturday in Kindersley at 1:30 p.m. and again in Dodsland Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Wheat Kings have a record of 2-2-1 in the North Sask. Female Hockey league.
