The Wilkie Outlaws have advanced to the Sask West Hockey League finals.

The Outlaws disposed of the Unity Miners, sweeping their best-of-five series, after winning game one 6-2, game two 4-2 and game three 8-4.

In the other semifinals, the Macklin Mohawks won the first two games 6-3 and 4-3 over the Kindersley Red Lions. However, the Red Lions dug deep in game three in Macklin last Saturday to come up with a 5-2 win.

The two teams were scheduled to battle it out in game four this past Wednesday in Kindersley.

The Macklin Mohawks had a 2-1 lead heading into game four in Kindersley Wednesday, thanks in large part to goaltender Stephen Wolff, who has been brilliant for the Mohawks.

Provincial playoffs

There are still six teams remaining in the hunt for a provincial title.

Senior A

• The Wilkie Outlaws defeated Hague, 4-2 in game one of the semifinals in Wilkie. Game 2 of the best-of-three series will take place Friday in Hague. Game 3, if necessary, will be played back in Wilkie on Saturday beginning at 8 p.m.

• The Kindersley Red Lions will have to fight their way back after losing game one of their series, 5-3 against the Lumsden Monarchs played last Friday in Kindersley. Game two will be played tonight in Lumsden. Game three, if necessary, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. back in Kindersley.

Senior B

The Biggar Nationals will be in Beechy tonight for game one of their semifinal series. The game starts at 8 p.m. Game 2 will be played Saturday at 8 p.m. in Biggar.

Senior C

• The Eatonia Huskies defeated the visiting Gull Lake Greyhounds in game one of their series. Game two, will be played in Gull Lake Saturday at 8 p.m.

• The Kerrobert Tigers defeated the Hafford Hawks in game one of their semifinals, 7-5. Game two will be played in Hafford on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Senior D

The Luseland Mallards lost game one of their semis, 6-3 in Edam. Game two will be played in Luseland this Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.
