The Eatonia Fall Trade Show returns this month after taking a one-year hiatus. An organizer says there is still room for a couple of vendors.
The community’s 29th annual Fall Trade Show takes place at the Eatonia Arena on Oct. 20, and the day starts with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. The trade show starts at 10 a.m. and it runs until 5 p.m. The trade show is presented by the Eatonia and District Chamber of Commerce.
Debbie Adams, a chamber member and trade show co-ordinator, said the chamber did not hold a fall trade show in 2017 because there was a scheduling conflict, but the event is back this year and it will have a similar feel to previous years.

As of Tuesday morning, she said 54 booths have been booked by vendors so far and there are eight craft tables booked. Adams, who noted that the chamber is doing the pancake breakfast, said she also has three food vendors booked for during the trade show.
The co-ordinator said there is still room and time for vendors to book a booth for the event. The final day for vendors to book a booth is Oct. 15, and Adams said people could contact her by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling her office at 306-967-2201 during regular business hours.
Adams said there will be two types of entertainment at this year’s trade show. Sculptor Marina Cole of Chainsaw Spirit in Medicine Hat will be doing wood carvings with a chainsaw, and entertainers Mitch Larock & The 4:54 Band of Eatonia will perform in the afternoon, she said.
She noted that it has been 30 years since the first trade show, but it is only the 29th edition due to missing last year. The co-ordinator said it is nice to be back in the saddle with the fall trade show, and it will be good.
“It’s going to be awesome,” Adams said, recognizing that a couple of community organizations will be participating in the event to sell tickets for various causes and to raise money. “I’m excited about getting it back in the community.”
The Eatonia Oasis Players will be selling tickets for their dinner theatre performances at the end of January. The theatre group also took a hiatus, but they started up again last year and they are giving trade show attendees first crack at tickets. Adams said it is nice because the group’s ticket drive draws people to the event.
She added that the Eatonia Community Services Co-operative will also be on hand to sell tickets for its Raise the Roof Raffle. The group is selling tickets to win a 1968 Dodge Charger and a 5,000-bushel bin and hopper bottom.
