On June 11, 2018, Bigger, Kindersley/Kerrobert, and Turtleford RCMP, charged 31-year-old Travis Stehr of Paradise Hill, Sask., following an assault that occurred on June 4th Stehr was charged with:

•  Assault with a Weapon, Section 267(a) Criminal Code

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Section 249(1)(a) Criminal Code

Stehr was also wanted on charges stemming from incidents which occurred in September 2017.

On June 18, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. Biggar RCMP responded to information that Travis Stehr was in the RM of Biggar. A vehicle identified as Stehr’s was located, and members activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle failed to stop for police and a pursuit was initiated.

Officers from Biggar, Unity, and Kindersley/Kerrobert responded and became involved in the pursuit. Following the brief pursuit, officers located the suspect vehicle approximately 1.5 kilometers west of Landis, near Highway 14.

The driver was quickly located in a nearby wooded area and was arrested by Biggar RCMP without incident.

As a result of this incident Travis Stehr has been charged with:

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Section 249(1)(a) Criminal Code

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (less than $5,000), Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code

•  Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Being Pursued by Police, Section 249.1(1) Criminal Code

• Possession of Break-In Instruments, Section 351(1) Criminal Code

•  Three counts of Failure to Comply with a Condition of an Undertaking, Section 145(3) Criminal Code

Stehr made his first court appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 19, 2018.

The outstanding warrants from the previous incident were brought forward at this time. His next appearance was in North Battleford Provincial Court yesterday.

Collision with pedestrian

Kindersley RCMP were called to a collision on Highway 7, at Flaxcombe, at 1:30 Sunday morning. A female pedestrian was struck by a westbound semi, which resulted in the pedestrian being taken to the hospital with what was described as serious injuries.

Anyone with any information regarding a female pedestrian, or if anybody picked up or dropped off a female in the Flaxcombe area in the late night/early morning hours of June 16/17, 2018, is asked to call the Kindersley RCMP at 306-463-4642.
