The top two teams in the SVHL did battle on the final night of regular season play last Friday. The first-place Kyle Elks beat Eston 8-5. Kyle will take on Elrose and Eston will play Kenaston.

Here’s a look at how the playoffs shape up in the Sask Valley Hockey League. Games began last Wednesday in the first round series. All are best of five series and games four or five on the schedule will only be played if necessary.

The top eight teams are in, leaving only the Loreburn 19ers (2-17-1-5) out of the playoffs.

First round

1. Kyle (17-3-0-34) vs 8. Elrose (3-17-0-6): Game 1 – Feb. 9 in Kyle; Game 2 – Feb. 12 in Elrose; Game 3 – Feb. 13 in Kyle; Game 4, Feb. 15 in Elrose; and Game 5 – Feb. 18 in Kyle.

2. Eston (15-4-1-31) vs 7. Kenaston (5-15-0-10): Game 1 – Feb. 7 in Eston; Game 2 – Feb. 12 in Kenaston; Game 3 – Feb. 16 in Eston; Game 4 – Feb. 18 in Kenaston; and Game 5 – Feb. 19 in Eston.

3. Outlook (14-6-0-28) vs 5. Central Butte (13-7-0-26): Game 1 – Feb. 7 in Outlook; Game 2 – Feb. 9 in Central Butte; Game 3 – Feb. 11 in Outlook; Game 4 – Feb. 13 in Central Butte; Game 5 – Feb. 18 in Outlook.

4. Beechy (13-6-1-27) vs 6. Delisle (8-11-1-17): Game 1 – Feb. 7 in Beechy; Game 2 – Feb. 11 in Delisle; Game 3 – Feb. 14 in Beechy; Game 4 – Feb. 16 in Delisle; Game 5 – Feb. 17 in Beechy.
