While the West Central Bantam Wheat Kings had been idle until last night, the Peewee Wheat Kings extended their winning streak to six games.
The players have been responding well to what the coaches ask of them, said Peewee Wheat King head coach Brett Sautner of their performance.
The Bantam Wheat Kings were to take on the Stallions in Saskatoon on Tuesday evening, after press time for this issue.
They are to host the Saskatoon Maniacs in Kerrobert next Saturday and the Saskatoon Outlaws in Rosetown on Sunday.

The Peewee Wheat Kings were to play games in Tisdale this coming Friday and Saturday and in Melfort on Sunday and, going by recent games, haven’t had any problem winning on the road.
They hammered the Humboldt Broncos 12-2 in Humboldt last Saturday and went on to Melfort, where on Sunday they whipped the Mustangs 9-2.
“Everybody seems to be buying in on the team as far as our practices are going. Everybody’s there. They’re working hard. We’ve got a good bunch of kids. They pay attention,” said Sautner.
“Whatever we try to do, they seem to pick it up and they work hard doing it. That leads to a lot of success,” he said.
“I’ve never had a better bunch of kids, just well behaved. It’s been awesome,” said the coach.
In Melfort, Dayton and Cole Reschny, Carter Ralston and Pryce Thiessen each scored two goals. Keegan Nash also tallied for the Wheat Kings. Cole Reschny assisted on four goals. Ethan Sautner got three assists and Thiessen, Cam Perlinger and Jake Hudec had two each.
Scotty McLean got both Mustang goals.
Tyson Borschneck minded the Wheat King net.
Andrew Perrot tended goal for Melfort.
Shots on goal weren’t recorded.
Cole Reschny scored four goals against the Peewee Broncos. Ralston, Sautner and Thiessen each scored twice. Cam Perlinger and Dayton Reschny added singles.
Cole Reschny and Ty Partington each notched three assists. Cam Perlinger got two assists.
Thomas Ries scored both Bronco goals.
Paige Fischer played goal for the Wheat Kings.
Preston McAvany went the distance in the Bronco net.
