Peewees
The Peewee Wheat Kings had just one regular season game on the schedule last week.
The squad hosted the Warman Wildcats on Saturday afternoon in Kindersley and skated away with a 6-4 victory.
The win improves the Wheat Kings record to 11-7-1 on the season for 23 points with five games remaining on the schedule. They’re tied for second place with Humboldt, which also has five games remaining, and the Tisdale Ramblers, who have nine games to play.
In Saturday’s game, goal scorers were Karson Blanchette (3), Kaden Veller (2), and Ethan Sautner. The Wheat Kings were up 4-0 after two periods of play, but allowed the Wildcats to come back to make the score 5-4 with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
Sautner added an insurance goal at the 2:35 mark to put the game away.
Goaltender Blake Sittler got the win in net, while Alex Worthington was credited with the loss.

The squad will have two games on the road this weekend.
They will be in Warman to take on the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon, before travelling to Tisdale on Sunday to take on the Ramblers.
Bantam
The Bantam Wheat Kings had this past weekend off from regular season action, but return to the ice this Sunday, as they take on the Saskatoon Outlaws in Rosetown.
The Wheat Kings are in first place in the North Division standings with a 19-4-1 record for 39 points. The Outlaws sit in second with an 18-4-1-1 record for 38 points.
Female midget AA
The West Central Midget Wheat Kings split a series with the Melfort Mustangs on the road last weekend.
The Wheat Kings lost 7-2 in Star City on Jan. 13, but came back to win Sunday afternoon, 5-4.
The team sits in fourth place in the North Sask Female Hockey League with a record of 6-7-3 for 15 points.
Providing the offence on Sunday were Kiahna Dillabaugh, Brooklyn Rublee (2), Kassidy Peters and Kiley Jenn.
Emerald Skinner stopped 30 of 34 shots in the victory for the Wheat Kings, while the team pelted 54 shots at the Melfort goaltender.
In Saturday’s lost, Keely Anderson and Kassidy Peters provided the offence for the Wheat Kings, who outshot the Mustangs 43-25 but could not solve Mustangs’ goaltender Meagan Perkins.
Tori Stevens was in net for the Wheat Kings.
The team has three games in three nights this weekend. They will be in North Battleford on Friday and Sunday to take on the third-place Battleford Sharks.
Sandwiched in between, they will host the first-place Saskatoon Legends in Dodsland on Saturday afternoon.
