The Wheat Kings are back in action this week with two games after having last week off from scheduled play. They will be in Prince Albert on Saturday and Sunday, taking on Gene’s Cycle Knights (7-2-1).
They lost their last two games on the road, versus Humboldt on Dec. 2 (7-4) and Dec. 3 (5-3).
The Tisdale Ramblers are in first place in the Centre Four Hockey League with a record of 9-2-1. The Wheat Kings are second with a record of 8-3-1, followed by Humboldt at 7-4-3.

Bantams
The Bantams had a tough schedule on the weekend, playing three games in three nights.
They were in Saskatoon on Friday night to take on the Saskatoon Maniacs and despite outshooting the home side 46-31, the Wheat Kings fell short on the scoreboard, losing 6-3. The Maniacs scored three unanswered in the third to pick up the victory.
Scoring for the Wheat Kings were Kyle Heintz, Zak Dean and Carter Cormier. In net for the Wheat Kings was Jaxon Neufeld.
On Saturday, the team was back in Kerrobert, where they hosted the Martensvile Marauders. This time the Wheat Kings came out strong and played a complete 60 minutes, outshooting the Marauders 35-18 and outscoring them 9-2.
Scoring for the Wheat Kings were Tylin Hilbig (2), Zak Dean (2), Jakin Lawrence, Kayden Ostrom, Logan Linklater, Carter Cormier and Eric Robbie. Noah Martens picked up the win in net.
On Sunday, the Wheat Kings were back in Saskatoon again, this time to take on the Stallions. They earned a 5-4 win despite a late comeback by the Stallions, who outscored the Wheat Kings 3-1 in the final frame.
Scoring for the Wheat Kings were Jack Hartsook, Gavin Halter-Metcalf, Kayden Ostrom, Austin Reschny and Garin Scherr.
Noah Martens picked up the win in net.
The Wheat Kings improved their record to 13-3-1 for 27 points. They’re tied for first place with Prince Albert in the North Division of the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League.
They will try to improve on that record this weekend as they travel to Melfort to take on the North East Wolfpack (10-6) on Friday night and to Balgonie to take on the Prairie Storm Extreme Hockey Lightning (10-3-2-South) on Saturday afternoon.
Female midget
The Wheat Kings earned three points on the weekend against Melfort, tying 2-2 in Eston on Saturday night and shutting them out 3-0 in Dodsland on Sunday.
With the three points, their record improves to 4-3-2 on the season and they sit in second place in the North Sask. Female Hockey League.
They hope to climb the standings this weekend, as they play three games in three nights, travelling to Saskatoon to take on the Legends on Friday and the Impact on Saturday. They return to the area on Sunday to host the Impact in Eston at 3:30 p.m.
Scoring for the Wheat Kings in Dodsland on Sunday were Kassidy Peters (2) and Elena Smith. Emerald Skinner stopped all 23 shots in the win.
On Saturday, Kiahna Dillabaugh opened the scoring for the Wheat Kings and Peters added the other. Tori Stevens stopped 22 of 24 shots in the game.
